Soil Testing is pre-requisite to know the nutrient imbalances in the soil and apply required   amount of nutrients to correct imbalances and optimize crop nutrition.  The ICAR project on soil test crop response correlation has used the multiple regression approach to develop relationship between crop yields on the one hand, and soil test estimates and fertilizer inputs, on the other.
